Existing Business Retention & Expansion

The area’s existing businesses represent great potential for job growth, and we focus on helping established businesses grow and prosper. We support and encourage expansion opportunities by coordinating needs of business and industry. Our team contacts over 160-plus businesses within the community seeking out ways to assist them with their expansion plans.

Representatives of Commerce Lexington and city and state economic development officials meet on a weekly basis with various existing businesses in and around the Lexington area. Topics of conversation often include the challenges of doing business in the state and region, what could improve their ability to do business, and the programs and services available to them through Commerce Lexington, Inc., the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development.
