“Hi everybody, I’m Alex Stern. I’m very excited to be an economic development intern for Commerce Lexington. I’ve lived in Lexington most of my life. I went to Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and got my Bachelor’s in Management from University of Kentucky. I am currently working on my Master’s in Economic Development through Murray State University and will be graduating in the spring. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing and playing music, and baking cakes.

Economic development is something I’m very passionate about. The economic development internship provides me with an opportunity to learn more about economic development in my region and learn how to assess and address community needs.

One of the things I’m looking forward to most is getting to engage more with the Greater Lexington area. My favorite thing about Greater LEX is the people. I am lucky to know many different wonderful people and be a part of a lovely community. Getting to do so in the context of economic development brings me so much joy.

Thank you for welcoming me to Commerce Lexington!”
