Commerce Lexington’s Falon McFarland Promoted to Project Manager, Economic Development

Commerce Lexington Inc. has announced the recent promotion of Falon McFarland to Project Manager, Economic Development. For the last two years, she has worked for the organization’s Economic Development Division, with emphasis on initiatives within the Minority Business Development Program, such as the Minority Business Accelerator, Access Loan Program, and Opportunity Exchange.

Commerce Lexington’s executive vice president of economic development, Gina Greathouse, said, “Falon is a valuable member of our team, working both with existing businesses and those looking to relocate here.  She has been instrumental in the day-to-day functions of our Full Stride Economic Development Capital Campaign.  Her experience in marketing is an asset to our efforts to promote Lexington and Central Kentucky as a great place for business and industry.”

Falon relocated to Lexington in 2021 with her husband and three children. She has a professional background in telecommunications with 11-plus years of experience encompassing marketing research, product management, and systems analysis.

A native of Hodge, Louisiana, McFarland is a graduate of Grambling State University with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing and Computer Information Systems. She also completed her MBA at the University of Texas at Tyler.

Falon serves as Children and Youth Ministry Director at First Baptist Church Bracktown, where her husband Rev. Rodney McFarland, Jr. is the senior pastor.  She is also an active member of the Beta Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the Central Kentucky Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated.
